What was the most epic piece of the week?

How To Start A Blog: My Advice To Beginning Bloggers @ KNS Financial.

Why did I choose this piece?

I always enjoy a reminder or a first time read of how to do something the right way. I wish that articles like this one were around in late-2008 when I started blogging. If you’re a new blogger, you need to open your ears and eyes to pieces like this one.

What’s the most epic part of this article?

“I wish I would have treated this as a business from the very beginning. I would have viewed spending money as making investments, and I would have saved a lot of time and energy, while making a lot more money!”

What do you think about the post and the idea of learning how to blog?

Nice piece in that article you dug up.

If more people looked at this business as an investment into their future I think people would be less hesitant to put some money into it.

There is no guarantee that you will be re paid, but I much rather invest in a business then a lot of the other crazy stuff we at times spend big money on!

Great article, it is pretty much exactly what I have followed while setting up my own blog. A really good read.

Was wondering if you follow the Boglehead forum at all?

Good post. I just started blogging two months ago. It has been overwhelming at times, trying to learn all the things necessary to have a good blog, but I am trying to learn something new every day. It’s a heck of a lot easier when I can read a post like this. Thanks for posting.

Hey Mike,

Thanks for the shout out! I actually plan to go back over that article and expand it into a series. I know that I don’t have anything unique or earth-shattering to say about blogging, but I do want to spare people from going through some of the things that I’ve gone through over the last 2 years.

What do you think I should include or clarify in the article?

I think that too many people ignore SEO and it should be at the heart of your strategy. This is definitely something to expand.

showing example of an efficient structure is also a good idea.

let me know when the series is up!
