About a month or two ago, I read an article about PF Buzz on one of my favorite blog; Four Pillars. He was talking about this new site based on personal finance; PF Buzz. I decided to take a look and actually try it a few times. In fact, my post on The Dark Knight Management Approach was featured as a “top buzz”. I really think it is a great site to discover if you like personal finance and this is why I decided to write this review.
What is PF Buzz.com?
If you know site such as Digg, Reddit and Stumble Upon, you will get the idea pretty quick (who doesn’t now Digg anyway?). This is basically a site where PF bloggers submit their post and members can vote them up or down.
What makes you want to visit this site?
If you like personal finance articles, you will be served! Several bloggers (such as me) are submitting their posts on a regular basis. The good thing is that the front page gives you access to the “top buzz” (most voted) of the moment. Therefore, you can read the “most interesting” personal finance articles without searching around.
There is also a forum where you can discuss personal finance topics such as investment strategies, debt management and frugal tips.
Are the resources really helpful?
I must admit that I put PF Buzz on my bookmark list and I go there on a regular basis. PF Bloggers who submit their story are trying to catch up your attention with great titles and interesting description. You can easily pick the topics you are interested in. However, since there is no specific purpose (besides sharing good personal finance stuff), it is up to the reader to make his own research and determine if a post is good or not. A good thing is that you have the possibility to vote down bad articles 😉
Can improvements be done?
As it is the case with any community websites, it becomes really interesting with a certain number of members. I think PF Buzz is getting to this level in term of articles submitted. There is a good variety of subject and writing styles.
On the other side, the forum is harder to get up to speed. Even though it follows the normal progression, I think that promoting the forum would automatically increase the popularity of the whole site. So I invite you to take a look at PF Buzz and post comments or suggestions for this site.
