What even more evil that TV, TV Sitcoms on DVD.
The show 24 is the worst, just like Lays Patatoe Chips, you just can't have one.

F'You Jack Bower, you're worse than crack cocaine.

We watch tons of TV, even have two Tivos. We waste an incredible amount of time not thinking. Summers are always nice because we use our evenings to read and think again. Each of the past three years we've reduce our evening TV time, but stay hooked on the shows we really like. The bad shows we watch are just a symptom of our addiction that we don't want to break apparently.

I don't even own a TV. However, not all TV is strictly entertainment, and I need to keep up to date on financial stuff, so I pay to have CNBC Plus (http://plus.cnbc.com) streamed to my computer. Problem solved! If I really need to watch something, I can have someone tape it for me.
