Finanical Ramblings

I’ve been quite busy this week because of the RRSP season (and because so many people have decided to purchases properties at the same time!). On the other side, I can’t really complain since if I am busy, it means that my bonus will be bigger ;-).

I was quite disappointed when I checked my weight this morning at the gym… still 184 lbs. I have changed my training program and I have sweat every single drop of water of my body (next step; I’m sweating blood!). Oh well, I’ll dry to cut down on food during the weekend (a high calorie risk period for me!).

I just received copies of the new QuickTax… I’ll review it and give away 2 copies shortly so stay tuned 😉

Here are some great read of the week:

9 ways to multiply your sources of income and pay off your debts at Gather Little By Little

How much will you need per month for retirement at Ending The Rat Race (answer: a s&%T load of money! Probably a good 5K per month in my case!)

Working with computer nerds at Four Pillars (just give them Star Wars shaped cookies 😉 ).

Low savings, not RRSP contribution limits is the problem at Canadian Capitalist (can’t agree more. As a financial planner, I can tell you that people don’t have 10,15, 20k to put aside every year)

Budgeting tools online at Canadian Finance Blog (a great way to start your budget and putting money aside towards your RRSP!)

What my first job told me at Million Dollar Journey (mine told me to never work for my step father again ;-0 ).

3 essential dividend portfolio question every investor must ask now at The Dividend Guy

Learning 101 at Studenomics (I’ll just leave you with the first sentence: “Half of learning is learning. The other half of learning is unlearning.”… just loved it!)

8 effective ways to raise frugal kids at Man vs Debt (I would like to have my kids to be more frugal than their dad!)

2 retirement scenarios at Financial Samurai (I wish I retire when the market is at its peak!)

Making financial mistakes can be good too at Money Ning (there is nothing like losing money to know how to not lose it again!)

And carnivals:

Carnival of Personal Finance

Carnival of Money Stories

Thanks for the mention- greatly appreciated!

Have a good weekend.

Perhaps it will comfort you to know muscle weighs more than fat… yah, blame it on that 🙂

You must be SUPER busy with all the housing purchasing that’s been going on… I’ve been busy trying to get a pre-approved mortgage in place too.

Have you tried P90X?
I hear that it’s really good (from REAL people, not just infomercials, LOL) because of the “muscle confusion”.

How heavy are ya? If you’re over 6 feet, 184lbs is not that bad!

@Doctor Stock,
Yeah that is what I’ve heard… But the problem is that I have changed my program to lose weight and not gain more muscle 😉 I hope I’ll get results next week!

@Young and thrifty,
What is P90X?

I’m 5’10”. I am not that fat, but since I workout 4 time a week (1h to 1h15 each time), I’d like to get rid of my belly for good 😉

I’m not fat either, I’m just big boned 🙂

Thanks for the mention Mike!

By the way, P90X is a hardcore exercise program!
