It's DEFINITELY a bull market baby! Gotta love it. Can't believe pay packages are back to 2007 levels, and stocks are en fuego!

The job market, most importantly is back in the financial services sector!

hahaha! that is quite funny!

however, considering the huge drop in 2008, September and October probably show worst returns than other month ;-)

I'm always astonished when I hear those uneducated comments about how september and october are "traditionally" bad months to invest. There's no data or any solid arguments for why this would be so.

I remember a quote I read: " October is one of the Worst Months to Play the Stock Market. Other Bad Months are: July, January, September, April, November, May, March, June, December, August And February" - M Twain

TMW,
I agree with you, I prefer to skip the euphoric phase and have a small bull market for a few years (i.e. 10% up for the next 3 years). however, investors don't seem to be able to control themselves still....

Mich,
I may want to invest in linked notes with 50% of your money market funds. I am not a big fan of linked notes because they cap your investment return. however, it is a great way to benefit from the market while not risking your money.

The amount of money sitting on the sidelines that go back into the market can result in a few things:

1. Rush in creating a spike in stock prices;
2. Inflationary pressures are triggered;
3. Interest rates have to rise in order to combat inflation choking off a recovery.

Its a real fine balancing act right now. Move too much one way and you choke off recovery. A slow and steady march would not be a bad thing for all concerned.

whatever happened to the fact that we are in "September, where markets decline usually", the commercial real estate mortgage fears, and the unemployment figures?

I think, because everybody wants in, people will be jumping in September to turn it into a historical bull month THEN they will remember all those issues above in October, or at some point.

For me, i am half in half out. will wait and see.
