I feel like I am in the working stage of life. But I find that I am enjoying life quite a bit where I am at. However, I would like to be able to travel and work.

@IS
I think that the time you put in your career/business will produce the same way the compound interest is beneficial for your investments ;-). The younger you start, the better you are.

@BMSP
Before I moved, I was taking 1hour to go to work (and 1 hour going back)so I have just increase it by 40 minutes overal.

In fact, I cut on my sleep (once again) so it doesn't affect the time I spend with my family. on top of that, we are living in a much better place.

Eventually, I could decide to switch for a closer branch but I have awesome work conditions right now...

I am still in the working stage of my life, but I am shifting my focus toward getting out of the rat race, because there is so much more to this world and life than working in a cubicle. I agree that money is one of the main keys to achieving this, via reducing expenses and building up side income!

Isn't spending 2 more hours per day in your car a negative then? It would take away time with your family the same way that someone working 2 more hours every day would no?

Would you consider that working harder in your 10 first years out of school is a good way to work less hard in the next 40? I think that those initial years either in a career or in a business are the stepping stone. If you don't step high enough to start with, you will have trouble reaching the higher levels without the momentum...

@JP,

I know how it tricky to slowly getting into more work and less free time for the sake of "offering a good lifestyle quality to our family".

As long as you can determine a plan where you know when you will start working less and maintain your lifestyle, you will be good. if not, you will head directly into a burnout :-(

I am certainly in the working stage of my life. I may be where you were 8 years ago or more. Working at the regular job and often putting in extra hours (without extra pay!) and getting home to my wife later than I should. I have a little side job on the go too that needs more attention. I need to start thinking about what you said regarding making more money while working less.

Good Post!
